I’ve used BizBuySell a handful of times when I was browsing business listings, usually in the evenings after work with a cup of coffee that I probably didn’t need. It’s definitely useful when everything loads properly, and I like being able to look through different listings in one place. That said, the site can be kind of slow sometimes. I had a few pages freeze on me or take way longer than expected while I was searching around. It’s not awful or anything, and I’d still use it, but I do wish it felt a little more reliable overall

I was poking around a bunch of resources while trying to get my head around what actually goes into buying a business, and I ended up spending some time with their guides and articles. A few sections were introductory, so if you already know the basics you might skim those parts, but overall they did help me feel a lot more informed about the process

At a quick glance, a lot of the listings just feel outdated. Maybe some are still accurate, but my first impression was that they haven’t been refreshed in a while, which makes it harder to trust what I’m seeing

I tried using BizBuySell to reach out to a couple of sellers, it turned into a annoying game of “Where Did They Go?” Some never replied at all, and others would send one tiny answer before joining the ghost squad. As a buyer, it felt like I was just chasing people around and wasting time. The messaging setup isn’t exactly helping either. Overall, not a great experience for me.

It’s not totally useless, and I can see how it might work for some brokers, but for the price, I expected a smoother experience and better-quality leads.

I expected way more listings from a site this big!! In my area, it was basically the same few businesses showing up again and again, and a lot of them looked outdated or not very serious. It was hard to compare anything when there just wasn’t much to choose from. Disappointing overall.

I was looking into franchise opportunities near me and this made the whole process a lot easier. I found plenty of listings in my area and could compare them without jumping between a bunch of sites. I even showed a few options to my brother, and we both felt it saved a lot of time

I set up BizBuySell alerts for a specific kind of business in a specific area, thinking it would save me time. But most of the emails I get feel like they’re pulled from a much wider search than what I actually asked for.

A lot of the listings are too far away, way outside my budget, or not even in the business category I selected. If you’re using the alerts, I’d suggest still checking the site manually and not relying on the emails too much, because they can send you down a lot of dead ends.

The site itself is fine for browsing, and I’ve found it useful when I search on my own. But the email filters really need work. After a while, I just stopped opening most of the alerts because they weren’t relevant enough.

bizbuysell does have some financing info available, and I was able to come across a few lender options and basic resources while browsing businesses. If you’re early in the process and just trying to get a general sense of what’s out there, it’s definitely useful enough to start with.
That said, I wouldn’t put all my trust in that section without doing my own homework. A lot of the real details still seem to require calling lenders yourself and double-checking everything. It’s not bad, but I was hoping it would be more complete so I could feel a little more confident before reaching out.
